Hello
which of the below questions is correct?

What helps companies grow? or what does help companies grow? and why? i mean is using the helping verb a must.
and does "grow" means only expansion or can mean develop?

Hello ahmed.abdul-fattah,

The first version ('What helps companies grow?') is the correct one. When 'who' or 'what' are the subject of the verb in an affirmative question, the auxiliary verb 'do' (including its other forms 'does' and 'did') is not used. You can read more about this in part 3 of our verbs - questions & negatives page.

Ok. thanks what about the second part of the question?
one more question please,
What does x expect from star employees? or what x expect from star employees?

Hello ahmed.abdul-fattah,

'Grow' can have either of those meanings, depending on the context.

The first question (with 'does') is correct. You need to make sure you use correct capitalisation with the name of a company, however.
