Ashlie and Stephen go to the gym to prepare for a half-marathon for charity. Who’s going to be better prepared?

Do the Preparation task first. Then watch the video and do the first Task. Before continuing with the rest of the activities, watch the video again. If you need help, you can read the Transcript at any time.

Task 2

Task 3

'Unless' means 'If ... not'. For example:

  • You're not going to finish the race unless you start training hard.

This means:

  • You're not going to finish the race if you don't start training hard.

Hello Teachers ,

Here when Ashley says ' I 'm going to make the most money ' she definitely speaks about rising money . But isn't there a slight difference between 'makig money' and 'rising money' ? And is Ashlie right to use 'making money' speaking about collecting money for charity ?

Thank you ,

Best regards ,

Hello iliya_b,

'Making money' can refer to earning for yourself, but it can also be for a charity or for someone else - it depends on the context. In this context it is very clear that Ashlie is not trying to get rich but rather to help the charity, so there is no possibility of confision.

Best wishes,

Hi parvin123,

I'm afraid the videos are not available for download, for technical and legal reasons. However, you can watch them as many times as you wish online, and you can download the transcript and open the page for printing by using the printer-friendly version link.

Best wishes,

Hi, she said ( think positive ) but as i know that we have to use adverb after verb not adjective .
Therefore it should be think positively.
Thanks alo
