Hello,
I can't type reach the last question in Comprehension task ; in task 2 common expression : I can't type the answer at the end of the expression (the place appears under the word).
The brown bar on the right doesn't move.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello opale91,

We're sorry about this! We recently updated our exercises and the problem you've found in Task 2 is one of the unexpected errors that has resulted. The exercise actually does work, it's just a bit confusing, because the answers go above the questions. For example, for the first gap you should put 'worry!', which matches the word 'Don't' below the gap.

I'm not sure why the scroll bar doesn't work in either Task. If it did work, I think Task 1 would work fine for you. I would recommend that you try using a different browser (Firefox, Chrome or Internet Explorer), as sometimes the exercises work better in one than another.

Could you please tell me what kind of operating system (e.g. ubuntu, Windows 8.1, El Capitan) your device uses and which browser you're using? That will help us fix the problem faster.

Thanks and sorry again for the inconvenience!

Best wishes,
Kirk

hello LearnEnglish team,
Actually, I wonder about the appearance of the tasks, Why was it changed? it was easier to use. where is check my answers button?

Hello seham fadL,

The buttons at the bottom of each task are now different. You can see a 'Finish' button, which will lead to your score. From there, you can choose to try again without seeing the answers or to see the key.

No functionality has been lost, but we think that the new format is much clearer on a range of platforms. Of course, it takes time to get familiar with changes but I hope in time you will find the new format as easy to use as the old one, or even easier.

Best wishes,

Peter

Hello!
Can I ask you about the meaning of this phrase: "You'll be in a shoo-in!" google-translator did't tell me what does it mean...))

Hello Marina Lantukh,

I wouldn't trust online translators for anything other than general understanding, to be honest. However, we have a tool for looking up words and phrases which is very reliable. It's the Cambridge Dictionaries Online tool, which you can find on the right of this page. Just type 'shoo-in' into the window and click 'Look it up!' to get a definition, examples and grammatical and phonological information. You can even hear the pronunciation.

Best wishes,

Peter

Good evening dear Learn English Team, I would like to know wich activities do you recommend me to do in order to improve my English. I have already finished the language and I´m preparing myself for the FCE exam. Thank you!

Greetings from Mexico

Hello Carmen Schweini,

The best place for you to start is with our Help page, which has some great practical tips and suggestions.

We don't have any specific FCE materials on the site - our exams focus is more IELTS - but if you're preparing for the FCE then that would be level B2, and you can do do a search for B2 materials via the search facility on the site. Just type B2 into the window and click 'Search' and you'll see a wide range of materials including grammar, listening, reading and more - like this.

Best wishes and good luck!

Peter
