I was born in Accra but a native of Nigeria. I am a afro deutsch studying Modern Language Studies at Open University, who has realised that my identity is standard English speaking.

"This is one of the story written by me, I have a plan to publish a story next February book fair but I have doubt enough that public will like it not."
How many grammatical mistakes in above speech?

Hello mousumi kabir,

We don't offer a service of correcting people's written work as we simply don't have time - and if we did offer such a service then we would have no time for anything else! However, I will do this once for you. The corrected version of this sentence would be:

"This is one of the stories I have written. I plan to publish a story at next February's book fair but I have some doubts as to whether or not the public will like it."

Best wishes,

Peter

Hi LearnEnglish Team,

Could you please to release the download MP3 of series Word on the street? It could be very helpful to us training the ear and memorize vocabulary also we could carry on in mobile phone and have fun learning, please thinking about that. Congratulations for great job you have done.

Hello Charles Michel,

As I understand it, this would still be a breach of copyright law, but thanks for your suggestion! Please note that we have quite a bit of downloadable content - see our page in iTunes and our Apps page for lists of it all.

Hi
I'm very glad to find this site
Can I ask some questions and have answers
1- Stephen said that , so do you get to travel ...., what is the meaning of ( get to) . If it has the same mean of (have to).
2- It's got two sections . 's is a brief of is or has.
3- Kettle's boiled . Why does she use (passive).
And, thanks.

Hi manaia,

1. In this context, 'get to' means 'have the opportunity to'.

2. The 's here is a contraction of 'has' (from 'has got').

3. The 's here is a contraction of 'has'; the form is a present perfect form (it has boiled).

Best wishes,

Peter

Hi zenymijares,

Thanks for your kind comment - we're really glad to hear you like them. To answer your question, we've posted a series of ten new Word on the Street episodes every summer for the past three years. The next series should be published in the summer of 2015.

Best wishes,
