Hi,
I am fresh here.
I am trying to improve my written English. I have been told that my vocabulary is fairly good, but my written english, particular my grammar is so poor that I need to address. I am not sure if this is a good place for me as I have noticed that most of people here are concerning their speaking English. If there's anyone could kindly give me some suggestions, it would be most appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Leven,

Welcome to LearnEnglish! How to improve your written English depends on the kind of writing you need to do. For academic writing we have a section called Writing for a Purpose, and we also have a series on writing emails - you can find these here. For other kinds of writing we have many examples for you to look at in the Listen and Watch section.

Please visit our Help pages for more tips on this and on learning English in general. Use the links on this page to see our advice and suggestions.

Best wishes,

Peter

There is a statement in the Task: "All the potential candidates have all the basic requirements for the job." And the question is: True or fals?
I think the word "potential" is not the best, because Marcia discarded the most of applicant, who are not potential and she made a shortlist. There are 12 persons on the shortlist (if I understand well), I think they are the potential candidates. And if Marcia worked well, they have to have all basic requirements for the job. :)

I agree with you, Anibell.

Hello Anibell,

What you say makes sense to me, but since the way the exercise interprets the word 'potential' is also possible, I don't think we'll change it, at least for now. If it seems to confuse other users, then we'll reconsider. In any case, thank you for suggestion and keep up the good work – it sounds like you've understood this video very well!

All the best,
Kirk
