It's Christmas morning! Ashlie's got a lot to do to cook dinner for the family, but can she get Stephen to help?

Do the Preparation task first. Then watch the video. Next go to the Tasks and do the activities. If you need help, you can read the Transcript at any time.

I see, thank you very much Mr.Kirk

Hi, i'd like to ask about what's sprout? I have never seen them before, and why did people eat it in the christmas dinner?

Hello angelali,

Sprouts are small vegetables that are a part of traditional Sunday dinners (and Christmas dinners) in Britain. Often called 'Brussel sprouts', they look like minature cabbages and are usually boiled in water.  People eat them because they are tasty and healthy!

hi l just wantto know what's it mean this sentence""it suits you""

Hi samiasamou,

'It suits you' is usually used to talk about clothes and it means that they (the clothes) look good on you.  Here, the comment is about a hat - the hat suits Stephen (he looks good with it on his head).

Best wishes,

I think it is wrong decision, if you are using sprouts for a special meal. Because of it smells really terrible. :)

hi everybody, nice to meet you, this is the first time I've taken part in this website so I'd like to ask admin a question that I can use my account in learnenglish.brtishcouncil.org for learnenglish teens? Because I can't log in my account at learnenglish teens :(

Hi phuonglinh123,

I'm afraid that isn't possible. The two sites are alternatives, and the material on the sites is designed for different ages. If you look at the House Rules (click on the link on the right) then you'll see that this site is only for people who are 18 or over, while LearnEnglish Teens is for people aged 13 to 17:

"You must be aged 18 and over to become a member of LearnEnglish and anyone under age will not be allowed to submit comments or interact on this site.

Children aged 13 to 17 can become members of LearnEnglish Teens. Children aged 13 and under can become members of LearnEnglish Kids. "

So, if you are 18 or older then this is the site for you. If you are 13 to 17 then please use LearnEnglish Teens, where the materials and the membership will be much better for you.

Best wishes,

Peter

This is very interesting Video, I like it. A question is why Ashlie was cooking lunch with Steven before, and then the family had dinner together ? A bit confused with this.
