hi everybody...i love so much english i take it like apart of me but sometimes it's difficult for me to say what i really mean...i'm looking for words and i'm afraid of not being understood...i need advices

Hello yan mouladi,

It sounds as if you would benefit from expanding your vocabulary. I'd suggest you read the advice on this on our Help page. Also, the more you practise speaking or writing, the more you'll improve. It's ideal to practise with a teacher, but even if you can't do that, you can still learn a lot from other learners.

Good luck!

Hello guys
Really my big problem is the listening , for example , sometimes i listen many words in a conversation that i know but i cannot link them in a sentence , then i can"t understand i am really worried :(
may anyone advise me . tks!

Hello sebastianh,

In every language, and perhaps especially in English, there are a lot words that go together in chunks or phrases that are best learned together as a unit. If you try to analyse these phrases word by word, they are much more difficult to understand.

In the sentence 'He's coming to the party as far as I know', for example, 'as far as I know' is a chunk. If you analyse it word by word, it's difficult to understand, but if you look it up in the dictionary – see the search box on the lower right side of this page – you'll see an entry for the word 'far'. If you scroll down the page a little bit, you'll see 'so/as far as I know' in bigger green letters, and there you can find an explanation and example sentences.

Keep this in mind as you study, and make the dictionary your friend. If you can't figure out what the different chunks of a sentence are, please feel free to ask here.

I hope this helps you!

Hello Kirk,
I followed your instruction to search the word `far` but the Cambridge Dictionaries Online do not work. Can you kindly help me?

Hello favrojas,

The Cambridge Dictionaries Online are working fine as far as I can see, so I assume this was just a temporary issue. Please try again and let us know if you still have a problem.

I'm new here. I want to speak english language. But I've no idea. How can I improve english for speaking. Please tell me some instructions for tasks and preparation.

Hello Khalique786,

I'd recommend you read the advice on our Help page. The strategies described there have helped many of our users, and we've all used them ourselves to learn other languages – with some effort, they really do work!
