Have you ever been in a band? What was the name of your band? What musical instrument do you play? What style of music do you play? Are you still playing? And, if not, why did you stop?

We love reading your comments and we reply to some of them each episode.

Hello!
I don't play any instrument. imagine play in a band, But i love to see the band Beatles, U2, Pet shop Boys and singer with Elton John, Sting, Madonna. I want to knew England and visit the house of pop star Elton Jonh that will be increadible while he sing the song Empty Garden or Nikita. I have a dream and one day it will be possible.
Thanks!

I listened to this podcast and noticed at one point. Rob said that Carolina broke the news to Jamie. I look the phrase "break the news" on the dictionary. It 's written that " to be the first to tell sb bad news". But I think for Carolina having a job in the convenience store is a good thing. I was a bit confusing.

Hello blueroses,

We use 'break the news (to)' when we have bad news, as you say. Here the news is bad but not because Carolina has a job, but rather because of something about that job. Later in the conversation this is made clear:

Jamie: So what about the other days? What are your working hours?

Carolina: Thursday evening, Friday evening and Saturday from four till midnight.

Jamie: Until midnight on Saturday? That's terrible. I'm never going to see you.

I hope that clarifies it for you.

Best wishes,

Peter

i've never been in Part of a band.
but i hope i can try how feeling to be part of a band

Hello,
I have never been in a band before, but I love to do it. I love singing and usually sing when I take a shower. If I had a change to be in a band, I would like to be a vocal. For me, singing make me understand more about myself and connect with the soul of artist through their song. I hope one day, I will have a chance to stand in a stage and show my voice for everyone.
Thanks
P/s: My grammar is't good, so I hope somebody will fix it for me. Thanks

Hello Sam Bùi,

Thanks very much for sharing this. You made me think about singing in a different way.

I'm afraid we don't provide the service of correcting users' texts, but I can say that I had no trouble understanding what you wrote and that the grammar is quite good.

We'd be very happy to see more comments like yours from our users and I hope to see another one from you soon!

All the best,

When I was a child I played flute at school.
I've never been in a band but I would have liked to learn to play an instrument

Hi everyone,
I played drum in school band when ı was at secondary school. Although I loved to play drum, There was no chance to continue. I always want to do a job that I can do using my talents like art or sport. In my opinion singing or playing piano, violin and so on in front of thousands people is quite impressive and satisfying and whenever I go to a concert, I wish I could do something like this.

Hi everyone. I have never been in a band but I always wanted to be in a music band and have a lots of money and beautiful woman, expensive cars and house. I unfortunately I haven't any musical talent such as play the guitar or play on saxophone or just singing. I can't play any musical instrument.
