Text
I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud
by William Wordsworth
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed-and gazed-but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought.
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

Yes,
I mean - for example - poems such like this by Wordsworth or other stories, tales or short articles I found interesting (not written by me!).
I can't understand if it is a possible thing or not...

Hello Emma, We (the
Hello Emma,
We (the LearnEnglish team) decide which materials are published on the site. That is because we have to make sure there is copyright permission to reproduce them and also that they are useful for learners. We usually add language exercises and downloadable pdf worksheets as well, so it isn't as simple as pasting in some text.
If you have a suggestion of something that would make a good LearnEnglish article, you can put it in the comments and we might use it. You can also paste non-copyrighted articles, poems etc. (like Wordsworth) into the comments if you think other users would find them useful.

good poet
i like the poem for its quite romantic..it tries to show that the writer doesn't really like to be alone..as in the first 2 lines...
the writer shows the beauty of someone who is in love and those people that love peace...where he talked about daffodils and all the natures.
GREAT poem
It`s really agreat poem ...it inspires me with it`s beatiful and natural images ...i felt as if i were on that cloud and see all that romantic iamges ....

hi
hi
I really like this poem, and i studied it before. William Wordsworth is a great poet.
'I wondered lonely as a cloud ...' by Wordsworth
‘I wondered lonely as a cloud ...’ was the very first poem I read by Wordsworth, and it is still one of my favourites. Thank you for submitting this beautiful and rather hopeful poem.
