Even Rob's getting into the Christmas spirit, with some special presents for Stephen and some special Christmas words for viewers.

Watch the video. Then go to Task and do the activities.

Hello Teacher, I have a question, when i listen to english material to practise listening, should i watch transcrip while listening?

Hello cordid,

In general, I would encourage you to first watch each episode a couple of times (or more if you wish) without using the transcript. Then, even if you understood everything, it's a good idea to listen to the episode at least once while reading the transcript. Most people find it's useful to listen and read several times.

I'd also encourage you to pay attention to not just words, but phrases and sentences, since separate words are often pronounced together when we speak quickly. The more you notice this and practise pronouncing it - why not practise your pronunciation while you're listening - the more your listening comprehension will improve as well. This will also probably help your vocabulary, as well.

There's really a lot you can learn in each episode! Let us know how you get on.

All the best,
The LearnEnglish Team

At (02:14) Stephen says, 'It's the same size. .......' Could you please fill some words I can't catch? Thank you very much.

Hello Aung Thet Naing,

He says "It's the same size - like, say, 'I'm as tall as you.'"

Best wishes,

The expression "as long as you take good care of it" meas the same than "as long as you take a good care of it"... I have listened the expression with article "a" in it...

Thanks !

PS Unscramble the words in brackets to give Christmas expressions - task 1 - does not resolve correctly the words starting by upper case, only all upper case or lower case letters are evaluated correctly
