In France, it's nearly similar to celebrate marriage : civil wedding and christian wedding most of time, but there's a lot of religions too. I don't know their customs.
Tolerance, complicity, good health and a lot of children make for a lasting relationship.

Hello everybody,
Amandeep calls Bobby at fisrt "man" and then "groom". What's the difference?
Thanks a lot in advance for your answer. Your site is great! Bye!

Hello Iellablu,

'man and wife' is part of what is said in many wedding ceremonies ('... I now pronounce you man and wife ...') and so that's why Amandeep says it in that context. Otherwise, 'man', of course, has many, many meanings – one of which is specific to marriage or sexual relationships – and 'groom' has a much more specific one in this context (follow the links).

Hi, could anybody help me? I'd like to understand correctly the sentence: 'After some photographs to record the big day, everybody will go to...'.
The meaning of this sentence is clear to me, but not grammatical construcion. Why there is used infinitive form 'to record'?

Hello Tom,

The infinitive form you ask about is an infinitive of purpose, but it can be a bit difficult to see since other parts of the phrase have been omitted. The full phrase is something like 'After taking some photographs to record the big day ....', which is a shorter form of something like 'After they all take some photographs to record the big day ....' In this case, 'they all take photos' doesn't necessarily mean that the people in the wedding will take the photos, i.e. presumably there will be a photographer who does that. It's just easier to say it this way than to say 'After a photographer takes some photographs to record the big day ....'

Does that make sense?

What does "amandeep" mean? I've look for it on dictionary, but I didn't find out its meaning. Could you help me with it, please?
Thank you very much!
It's really an interesting and helpful video!

Hello Rosie Phan,

I'm not surprised you couldn't find this in a dictionary because it is simply a name! The presenter is called 'Amandeep'. It is, I believe, a Pubjabi name originally.

There are traditional dances, treats and lots of funny and interesting friends and relatives in our wedding ceremonies in Turkey :) I think you should always be kind, understanding and reliable.

hi there,
Amandeep ask "what have you got left to do?".I don't know what it mean?

Hello nguyen bao tin,

This is a question we ask when someone is part-way through a task. Some things have been done and other things have not. The question asks what things still need to be done. Here Amandeep is asking which parts of the wedding preparations are not completed yet.

Best wishes,

Peter
