S: Oh, I've got to write a literature survey. What is it?
L: Well, you probably have to go and look at a lot of different sources and then summarise them and pull them together somehow for your instructor.
S: Oh, so have I got to write a great long thing about each one?
L: Not necessarily. It depends on the question. Sometimes you just write a little about a lot of different sources. Or sometimes you write a lot about one or two sources. It depends on the question.
S: Ooh, I'd better ask my tutor, then, which one they want.
L: Yes, that's a good idea.
