Now Ashlie has found her new flat, there's only the packing, moving, cleaning and unpacking to do. What could possibly go wrong?

Where is the transcription?

Hm, it's an interesting tradition to give housewarming gifts, I have never heard about this before. In Russia there is no custom like this, but instead of gifts people  used to have a superstition that when they move into the flat the should let a cat in first, then other people can walk in. It could be explained in different ways, some people say it is because cat can make a house spirit kinder, others say that the cat is a house spirit himself.

Wow that's interesting, I was born in Kasachstan and speak Russian, too. I didn't know about this russian custom about moving the cat in first. Thanks for the information

Hello, I ´m Juan Francisco, I ´m 17 and I ´m from Gran Canaria. I really find this website very helpful and I´m immensely grateful to the British Council.  I have a question, What does housewarming gift mean? I have heard of housewarming parties but it is my very first time I hear this. Here in Spain we don ´t give presents when someone close to us moves out.
Thank you very much

Moving house is really really terrible job. For me, I usually rubbish many stuffs I have collected but actually haven't used that much. For example, out of dated fashion, broken furniture, and so on.

Yeah I have moved house about five times in last four years of my study. It's quite a hectic task.I wouldn't believe how I got so much stuff at  time of to shifting to a new house.I don't  exactly remember how many boxes I would have filled, but it's may be around ten to fifteen boxes.Sometimes shifting turn  to be a nightmare when some precious thing broke or got stolen.

Hi.AdamJK.
Can you please help me out with this sentence "Would you mind carrying this bag?" of Task.I don't get it.
When it is appropriate to say"Would you don't mind carrying this bag?"

Hello Hashmi!

'Would you mind carrying this bag?' is a polite question, meaning 'Please carry this bag for me'. 'Carry this bag!' is rude, 'Will you carry this bag?' is more polite, and 'Would you mind carrying this bag?' is even more polite. It may look strange, but it shows you are being polite.

We would never say 'Would you don't mind carrying this bag?'If we wanted to ask someone NOT do something, we might say 'Would you mind not doing that?'

Hope that helps!
