Hello bk_thapa!

Why do you feel the sentence is wrong? It's perfectly OK! Maybe the person speaking only saw them from a distance, or from behind.

Hello sir!
Thank you for helping me :)
The personal pronoun rule ,"When we are not sure if we are talking about a man or a woman we use they/them." confused me because i thought that if i saw a person than i should be able to know that the person is man or woman..and in that case him/her will be used..
now i get it right, thanks to you again.

Hi. I have one question for the teachers. I don't have a good knowledge about grammar so I need to start  from the beginning. Should I  follow these lessons in the order?Or is there another way?
thank you

Hello Omer!

Welcome to the site! Your knowledge of grammar looks OK in these few sentences!

In answer to your question, however, these lessons are more for reference and practice. If you want a structured approach to learning grammar, there are plenty of books on the market that can give you that. Instead, see these pages as a way to answer questions you have and areas you find difficult.

This is often the way my students learn grammar best, in fact. Rather than try to learn in order, one bit of grammar after the next, they work on whatever they think they are having trouble with.

Don't forget that we have lots of other grammar information around the site, too. The best way to use LearnEnglish to help your grammar is to use our search box. Type in some key words for an area you want to work on (for example "past simple" or "relative pronouns") and you'll get a lot of video and audio pages with examples of the language, more exercises and explanations - and, of course, links to these grammar pages!

Hope that helps!

Hello, people in the house!
I have been looking for a subject but I just can't find it at any topic. I have been looking for any subject or any topic about "what time is it?" or "how can I say the hour in English?", the rules and everything. Somebody help me please!
Thanks.
Rilton.

Hello Rilton!

You can try our general page on time, and you could also have a look at our Johnny Grammar series on youtube - there is an episode about telling the time.

Hope that helps!
