I like travelling by car, as long as I am not the driver. Probably I like travelling by bus, but the condition in my country makes me unable to reach my destinations only by bus. Beside cars, I usually get to university by a unique public transport in Indonesia, called Angkot. It actually look like a car which has been modified so it can only be entered from the left side. There are two long benches inside, on the right and the left. Most Indonesian people travel by Angkot but sometimes this public transport becomes the cause of traffic jam because it doesn't have angkot stop like bus stop so it can stop anywhere randomly, which will annoy other street users.

Hi, Kirk, could you explain me the use of verb to get?

Hello MariaElena,

There are really quite a lot of uses of 'get'! I'd suggest you look it up in the dictionary – see the handy Search box on the lower right side of this page. Be sure to look at all of the entries (OBTAIN, REACH, etc.), as those are where the different meanings and uses are explained.

Good luck!

Best wishes,

My favourite means of transport is the car. The car is expensive, but it is undobtedly the most practical means of transport. It allows to reach a place avoiding costly delays.
In Italy when I take the train, I have to wait for hours; the rains often have delays and there are few departure above all on Saturday and on Sunday.
The disadvantage of using the car is increasing environmental pollution that could instead decrease using public means of transport.
Bye, maria elena

sales is not a fair bussness. sometime the products are not of good quality.

Hi there!

It's my first comment here. I enjoy a lot this website, it's very useful for people who are learning english (that's my case).
About this episode, here in Brazil there are buses, cars, motorcycles, bicycles and some places we use the ferry to get at the work, to crossing the ocean from a city to another one, usually is a short way, about 15 minutes.

Hello everyone, I am from Venezuela. This is my first post here. I am glad to find this web page to improve my English. I have studied English in american institute in my country, but now I want to keep practicing my English skills with some pages on internet. So I usually get to work by car. I used to get to work by bus and subway but I saved some money and I could afford my own car. However, In my country, it is too expensive to maintain in good condition. We do not have some special way to transport tourists, but I recommend if you come here, you should take the subway or if you can afford it, renting a car is a good idea. I have never been in London, but I wish I could be there someday..

hello everyone, I'm Hieu from Hai Phong city in Viet Nam. My favorite transport is bicycle because it is easy to move, make you more healthy and it is safe for the environment. Besides, I like the feelings of ride a bike slowly, watch everything pass the road, esp when you're sad.
