I never said that I were sick to miss work but I did said It to avoid school a couple of times when I was a child though, because I did't like to get up early in the morning to take the bus and go to school at that time. When my parents find out I did get in some trouble and they made me do homework for an extra time and then I learnt the lesson. I think it's better to tell the truth and try to change some hours with some colleague or coworker rather than tell a lie and miss work if you need a free day or something, because nowadays that behaviour always bring bad consequences.

I've said that I was sick so that I could miss school several times. I know that it's not good, but sometimes we need to tell a lie instead of telling the truth. And being sick is a good reason for missing school. Also I've done the same thing to miss work once. Well, I'm a bad guy.

For me I think sometimes you can lie for example when you want to solve a problem between two of your friends. I remember when I was at school I told to my mother that I have a headache but in fact I didn't have it because I didn't want to go to school.

Dear Team,
a)the word ''really'' is missing from the text of Adam's speaking in 3:08
b) it's very strange, but instead of ''a shirt'', in 2:50, I hear rather "a shirts''.
Do I hear correctly or it's simply Adam's idiomatic pronunciation that cheats me ?

Best wishes

Hello again Nikoslado

I've put in 'really' in the spot where it was missing. I can see what you mean about 2:50, but I think it's more a case of the final 't' being pronounced very strongly. In any case, 'shirt' is clearly what he meant.

Thanks again.

All the best

Actually yes I said lie to my parents when i was in school . sometimes I did not want to went to school so I pretend I m sick to absent from the school and sometimes my mother send me to market and give me amount of money there were some rest of money but I said lie to keep the money to myself and if I should to say truth I will said without fears

I never lie. It is the hugest guilt in our life. I think you steal someone's rights to know the real things. There isn't any power could force you to lie, it is just bad evidence to make yourself innocent.
By the way, if a mother told her son that he is brilliant, she is not lying. You have to look at him by her eyes to be able to judge her...

Thank you guys for another amazing podcast!
I think it is always better to tell the truth than tell a lie,no matter the cost of it.

Telling the truth, I think it’s important. When you’re telling a lie you’re likely take a thing for your advantage but loose much more then. There’s no any efforts to be a lier. I’m sure, Carolina did right when she didn’t tell to Alice or Mr Spencer about her fictional illness to go to the concert. She decided to check whether her boss thinks she’s deserved to shift the schedule and it turned out, she is.

I lie sometimes but I never told a lie to escape school or work. When I was at school my parents made me to go to school every day even when I was sick, and now I don't go to the work when I am sick, but I've never lie about that. I am not a good liar. It doesn't mean I never lie . Yes I lie like anybody else . I believe there is no person who never lies.
I mostly lie about my life, sometimes I make a false memories to prove that I am right, specially about the things that I strongly believed and others deny it.
