Hello damtruong1980,

We're happy to help our users with questions like this from time to time, but please tell us what you think the answer is and why first. Then we can help you help better.

i think" i'm doing well" may be the best answer for this question
But i think this option is very formal. is that right?

Hello damtruong1980,

Great -- thanks for writing such a complete answer! And yes, D is the best answer -- as you say, none of the other three are appropriate, as they answer more a question like 'What are you doing?'. 'I'm doing well' is informal or neutral, so it is appropriate in this context.

I'm not sure if this will interest you or not, but if you want to learn more of this kind of language, our Big City Small World series has lots of conversations between friends and would be a good way of seeing lots of different examples.

All the best,
