'Erm' is the way we write the a filler noise which a speaker makes when they are hesitating for some reason - often because they don't know what to say next.

"stuff" and "like" are really new with me. Noted!
I feel pretty hard when I listen it.
hmm is a filler used in CAE speaking to beat time.
