Hello. First I couldn't find a section for phrasal verbs so I am typing my question here. I think both prepositions are OK in the following sentence, Right?
- The shop is giving (away - out) a pen with each book that you buy.
Thank you.

Hello Ahmed Imam

Yes, both particles are possible here -- I'd use 'away' before 'out'.

By the way, our pages on phrasal verbs are Separable and non-separable multi-word verbs and Multi-word verbs, but when your question is about meaning, the best resource is usually the dictionary.

All the best

Hello. Could you please help me? What is the difference between the two following sentences.
1- When seeing the snake, she felt scared.
2- On seeing the snake, she felt scared.
Thank you.

Hello Ahmed Imam,

In most contexts there would be no difference in meaning.

When we use on seeing we are making the connection explicit: she felt scared because of the snake.

When we use when seeing it is likely that the snake caused the fear, but it could also be just a coincidence of time. In other words, she could have already been scared when she saw the snake, as opposed to only becoming scared as a result of the seeing it.

Very interesting.. British council increased my English level

My university started to increase the number of international students a decade ago and now are accepting more and more students from abroad mostly as graduate students. They encourage me to work harder on my research and learn English.

The experiences of going global of three companies demonstrate that in the aim going global by far the most important thing is to evaluate funds and customer base you'll need. Before taking business global, it is important to research the market. In today's global economy, companies of all sizes are establishing operations in foreign markets providing several advantages for own business. The example of Heike demonstrates business can go very well without globalization, she has enough work for herself and makes enough money preferring to do all the work herself. To my humble mind, she makes two sheets happen: she fulfilled as a person and as a professional. I consider, she is a happy person.
