Hi English Team,

I would like a opinion from you about British English and American English. For an English Student can be to become confusing if it choose both to learning on the same time or the better way to get focus just one?

Cheers,
Charles Michel

Hello Charles,

There are few differences between American and British English that matter in most contexts, so I'd not worry too much about this. When you come across differences in vocabulary, it certainly can't hurt to learn them, but most Americans and British people are familiar with the more common differences in vocabulary.

In terms of listening, I'd encourage you to listen to speakers of as many varieties of English as you can, including non-native speakers. Non-native speakers who use English to communicate with other non-native speakers far outnumber native speakers, so it's very likely that you'll use English in such a way yourself at some point.

I hope this helps you!

Best wishes,
Kirk

Hello lalista,

It's not really possible for us to give you any more suggestions as we can't see your device or test it in any way. I suggest you try accessing the site from a different device (a laptop or desktop computer) to see if that solves the problem.

Best wishes,

Peter
