Hello manik87,

In addition to the resources in this section, I'd recommend you visit TakeIELTS, where you can find loads of useful information and advice and even some free practice materials.

Kirk I want to speak fluent english. I know grammar very well. Even I read newspaper for last ten years. But still I am not fluent. I am an english teacher. Here people explain literature english into hindi in india. But I want to explain literature english to English with appropriate words. What have I to do. Plz guide me in details

Hello Maan,

The first thing I'd recommend is asking for assistance at a British Council centre near you to see if they have any relevant classes for you. You could also try to see if there are any MOOCs on English literature online. For example, the British Council is currently running one called Exploring English: Shakespeare, that you might be able to join. There you could observe how the teacher speaks about literature and learn from him or her.

Good luck!

All the best,

What about theirs. Preeti is here 3rd person and i then why do not we use theirs. Plz explain it in details

Hello Maan,

We use they/them/their/theirs when we are talking about more than one person and it does not include the speaker. When it includes the speaker we must use we/us/our/ours. For example:

Paul and John live here. It is their house.

John and I live here. It is our house.

I hope that clarifies it for you.

Best wishes,

Peter

I am 13 years old .. can I take Ielts in egypt ?

Hello Engy Helmy,

The IELTS test is not intended for people under the age of 16, as far as I am aware. You can read more about the test, find a centre and ask questions about the test through the TakeIELTS website.

Our site is designed for adult users so I would direct you to our sister-site, LearnEnglish Teens, which is designed for teenagers.

Best wishes,

Peter

Hello tiida,

I'd say your best option would be to look for an IELTS preparation course at a British Council or other school. There you can get personalised attention from a teacher and what you learn in class you can apply as you work through your preparation books. I'd also recommend you visit TakeIELTS, which has loads of useful information and advice on preparing for the test, as well as some free practice materials.

Good luck!

All the best,

Hello Peter and Kirk. I hope you are doing great. I will be glad if you could explain what happens when a candidate performs very well on three sections (coherence, grammar and lexical resource ) but fails at task response of writing task 2 of academic IELTS.
