Intermediate: B1

The tips that you are give us about an IELTS exam, are very useful, I want to take the test this year, because I want to emigrate to Canada, I want to work, maybe study, live and settle there; Right now I got intermediate English language level but of course I want to improve it each and every day.

I have a question for the learning english team:

Which are some ways to improve my english faster to take the test?

Best regards.

Hello Smartsosty,

The best place to get advice on this is on our dedicated site for IELTS candidates: TakeIELTS.

There is a lot of material there, including practice tests and sample answers, as well as tips on how to improve your English specifically for the test.

1) Check the spellings of your answer, incorrect spelings are marked down
2) Do not send much time on 1 question. IF you have time , you might wanna come back
3) Read the title and the picture, it gives you a general idea of what you are bout to read

Hello, I would to learn english to improve my language, but overall to teach my subject (math) in english. My problem is to speak and to talk in english and not to read beacuse I studied on english texts easily.

Hello fparrotta,

There's some general advice on improving your speaking on our Frequently asked questions page, which I would recommend, but I'd also suggest watching some videos of people teaching math. I expect you can find many of them in YouTube, but I'd also particularly recommend checking out the Khan Academy, where there are hundreds of such videos.

I hope this helps you.

All the best,

Hello Mark,
I took an ielts exam 3 times and never goes up from band score 6.0
I have been studying English since 2000.
But whenever I take ielts exam I stuck in reading section due to lose my temper to find an answer while the correct answer come and go in front of my eyes.
Time goes out of my control and in middle of exam I could not tackle appropriately.
What would be your advice to me about my problems?
Thank you so much
