I like shopping in my town -Barcelona-, especially home objects, but I also enjoy shopping in street Markets things like hand made food and crafts.
London is fabulous for shopping, I love the atmosphere of Covent Garden.

I enjoy going shopping to the central shop in Moscow GUM. This shop offers you variety of products to get: clothes, shoes of leading world brands, and make-up, perfumery products, techniques, food and even you can have meal there. Besides, in the GUM you can find a cinema and watch a film there. A lot of exhibitions are held in this shop. Last summer there was the exhibition devoted to Coca-Cola, products manufactured by Frey Wille, exhibition of designers. Recently there have been the exhibition dedicated to retro cars. In the GUM I frequently attend the perfume-boutique called Articoli and boutique Lacoste.

Well, i really love shopping, either shopping mall or markets, but i prefer shopping for clothes and shoes to shopping for food. I have heard for several times that UK is a great place to buy things and i hope one day i could go there.

I like to go shopping with my wife, we usually go to Cardiff centre; there are load of shops. It is a good way to relaxing a walking around. We love Cardiff .

hi everyone. i am from India. And this is my first time here. Its very nice listening to these podcasts and doing all these excercises. Talking abouth shopping, i love to do shopping. the shops nearby my place is too expensive, so i used to shop from the city called Bangalore. There is a place called commercial street where we get a lot of items like clothes, other accessories cheaply. I would love to come to London. I am soo much fascinated about that place. So I am planning to do my Master's from there.

I don't like shopping in my country, Italy, and in London too; I agree with Tess, too many people in Oxford street but also in Portobello rad on Saturday; I prefer Covent Garden and the neighboroughs. I prefer walking and see the buildings from outside...

Hi All,

I have a query, I tried to get the answer in many sites but didn't.
Can somebody help here?

I was working on a machine and it was not working and getting stuck.

Now the doubt is :
I know if we use " it was sticking" then it is wrong in this context and we should say "It was getting stuck".

Can somebody explain why "it was sticking" is wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Sagar1234,

There is nothing wrong with 'it was sticking' in this context.

Best wishes,

Peter

Thanks peter for your prompt response.

I asked this because once one of my friend said that it is sticking is wrong and I should write it is getting stuck.

So if you don't mind can you pls just confirm on below points.

1. Are both sentences correct?
2. What is the difference in the meaning of these two sentences?
