Here in Egypt, most of the public schools use the system of the exam. In the other hand, most of the private schools use the continues assessment and the exam. For me, I prefer the continues assessment because I don't feel confused by that system,. In the same time I see that the exam is very important to known how much your progress is.

I'd like to know if the photos in the podcasts are Ravi and Tess? I love this site because to help me very much my learning. Happy New Year to all who are responsible for operating the site. I love it! God bless!

Hello MeireSilva,

Yes, the photos are of Tess and Ravi (who are together in the photo) and of Carolina (who is alone). We're very glad to hear you find the site useful, and wish you a Happy New Year as well!

Best wishes,
The LearnEnglish Team

I like both of them, in my university they mixed both. We have about 60 ~ 80% out of the whole degree in exames and 20 ~ 40% in continuous assessment for each subject.

Continuous assessment is something new for me, however it seems to be a very good option. I'm currently doing the the English Functional Skills at the College and after this I will be looking forward to get a degree in UK thus this episode was very helpful to clarify some of the particularities of the Universities systems. Thank you very much and congratulations for the quality of the Learnenglish Elementary Podcast.

In my opinion, both of them are needed.Continous assesments really help students to stay in an active and productive brain or way of thinking all the time while exams put us in the situation to be ready anytime and well prepared to delivere our thoughts, memories, knowledges using only our own brain after given period of learning or course.

Hello Happy New year I love exams it makes me study hard and make me study in the evening and in the morning for it and I even don't sleep if I didn't finish it yet So that why I agree with Adam and Happy New year to Tess,Ravi,Adam and Jo
Happy New year to lern english team

Abdallah Musa From Sudan
