Hi Dear British Council,

I would like to know which level are the listen from Word on the Street and which one do you recommend for advanced level?

Regards,
Charles michel

Hello Charles Michel,

Word on the Street is aimed at learners at B1-B2 level (using the CEFR scale).

More advanced learners could try the following:

Britain is Great

The Magazine

Stories and Poems

It's also possible to search for high level material - see here, for example.

I hope those links are helpful.

Best wishes,

Peter

Asked, he reacted sharply.

Can it be used in the sense that, "being asked, he reacted sharply' ?

Hello kraypost,

Yes, that would be fine.

Best wishes,

Dear Sirs,

I'm very sad because there are not any exercise which is working on my computer. Recently you've changed the shape of them and really the result is worse then before.

I think they are very interesting and help me to progress in English language.

Anyway I think the series Word on the street is great and very useful.

Thanks

Hello JMRA.,

There was an error with the exercises on this page. I've just fixed it and can see them now. Can you? It sounds as if perhaps you're not able to see exercises on any of our pages. If that's the case, we're sorry to hear that. The recent change in exercise format was intended to make the exercises more accessible, especially for users on mobile devices, and we know that's worked for many.

If you're still having problems, I'd like to help you see if there's a way to get them working on your device. The first thing I'd recommend is trying a different browser and/or device. If that doesn't work, could you please tell me what operating system you're using, and which browser and browser version?

All the best,
Kirk

Thank you very much for your answer.
Actually I have appreciated a improvement in the exercises after you has answered me.
At the moment, I'm working in the next chapter (education) and everything is OK
Regards

What means "the crowd up for it?"

Hello Rustam,

Where did you see 'crowd up for it'? I can't find that on this page and without context it's difficult to explain what that might mean.

All the best,
