"stuff" and "like" are really new with me. Noted!

That is the meaning of "erm"? Thank you.

Hello Bognar Norbert,

'Erm' is the way we write the a filler noise which a speaker makes when they are hesitating for some reason - often because they don't know what to say next.

Best wishes,

Peter

Hi The LearnEnglish Team, this section is very helpful for me,but I still confuse the word "stuff"
Could you tell me more about how to use "stuff" ,I want to know it more clearly.
Thanks a lot.

Hi Pei Wen,

'Stuff' is a general word to describe something that we either do not recognise or that we do not want or need to identify. It is similar to 'thing' except that it is used for uncountable rather than countable items. It is quite informal, but is not slang or non-standard in any way.

Best wishes,

Peter
