Dear friends,
I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Fred and I am from Myanmar(Burma).I was wondering if I can buy the clips or CDs of Word on the street in local british council.I humbly request to the authorities to post downloadable clips on the page(word on the street).Because,in our country, internet connection isn't very good so I have some problems in watching the clips. So, if they were downloadable,it would be very useful to the students like me.I love word on the street a lot.It is great help to me.So please help us(students like me)     Thank You.......

Hello fred_lyn!

Thanks for your question, and I'm glad you like Word on the Street enough to download. Unfortunately, they are not available as CDs at the moment. We also can't post them as downloadable material, since they are copyright to the BBC. I'm sorry about that, but there's nothing we can do about it. If you want material for download or that will load quicker, I suggest you have a listen to our Elementary Podcasts or Big City Small World - they may only be audio, but they still have value!

I was just wondering where I can download the clips of Word on the street.Would it be ok
if I download from BBC website?

Hello Fred,
I'm afraid not. As Jeremy said, we can't make them available for download for copyright reasons. However, I know the BBC are keen for local broadcasters to show them. You could write to your TV stations and ask them to arrange with the BBC to show Word on the Street in your country.
Best wishes,
Adam

Hello Fred,
We don't have a mobile site at the moment, but we will very soon. If you go to LearnEnglish Teens you can see how it is suitable for a mobile browser and that's the sort of system we are currently testing on LearnEnglish.
