Listen to an interview with a recruitment expert, who talks about his experience of reading CVs and offers some good advice on writing them.

Do the Preparation task first. Then listen to the audio. Next go to each Task and do the activity. If you need help, you can read the transcript at any time.

Task 1

Task 2

Task 3

Weak forms are syllable sounds that become unstressed in connected speech and are often then pronounced as a schwa.

Example
In the sentence below the first 'do' is a weak form and the second is stressed.

What do you want to do this evening?

Weak forms are very common in English. Listen carefully and fill in the gaps with the missing words typed out in full.

Hello
My name is Sami khan and i am from Pakistan. i am so happy to be the member of this site.........

difficul to lishten, someone have some precious advice about lishtening skill for me?

Hello anhthang_lion!

Well, you've come to the right site for listening! We have lots of things to help you practice your English. A good place to start is our Elementary Podcasts. These are short radio shows about different subjects. You can read the transcripts and do the exercises to help you understand the show. If you prefer a drama, you could try our radio soap opera, Big City Small World. To get the most out of them, try listening once without looking at the transcript, and don't worry about understanding every word. Try some of the exercises, and then listen to them again.

If you think something is too difficult, don't worry about it. Try something else, and come back to it later. To make the most progress, though, try to listen to something every day.

Hope that helps, and have fun on the site!
