Stephen's got a job as an actor, and he and Ashlie go to the Globe Theatre in London to pick up his costume – and to find out about England's most famous writer, William Shakespeare.

Do the Preparation task first. Then watch the video. Next go to Task and do the activity. If you need help, you can read the Transcript at any time.

welcome back Ashlie and Stephen)..i'm so pleased to see u again. Thanks a lot .

I'm really happy to see Stephen and Ashlie again, especially talking about Shakespeare. I love these British Council Learning English series and I would like to see more videos of the "How to" series. It's so cool to see how we can use the English language in daily situations and I used to enjoy so much the girl's accent. I think she was Scottish or something :D

Hello Amanda,
It's great you enjoy 'Word on the Street' so much and I hope you find it helps your English. Which girl's accent are you talking about? If it's Ashlie, she has an English accent and so does the woman who works at the Globe Theatre.
Best wishes,

I really like this series. Ashlie is still beautiful and Stephen is still funny. So we can see a lot of beautiful places in London. I hope to see all this places when I get there. Congratulations.

In my country, Spain we have also a famous writer from the same century. It´s called Cervantes and he wrote El Quijote, one of the greatest plays in the history. Is a pleasure to tell stories like this.
