When I go to a conference or meeting, the most important things are free wifi, food, and comfortable chairs, because most of the time we stay a much time there.
When I go to a conference or event, the most important things are free internet, a secure parking place, a place of relaxing and refreshments.
If I go for a meeting or a conference, the most important facilities for me are a free access to the Internet, refreshments and that the place is located near to the shops and not too far from the airport or train station.

In my personal experience, having a screen is the most important for a conference or meeting. A screen is effective to get an attention when you make a presentation in front of majority. So, I would definitely ask a hotel if they have it or not.
The important facility I am looking for at the conference is access to restrooms. You won't miss the meeting and save time.
