Hello ngakute!

Sorry to hear you're having problems! Users in Vietnam don't usually have problems watching videos. So I can help you, could you answer these questions?

  • Which web browser are you using? (Firefox, Internet Explorer...?)
  • What computer or phone are you using?
  • What do you see where the videos should appear? Nothing, or is there a message?
  • Have you tried any other web pages on LearnEnglish?
  • Do you still have the same problem if you use a different computer?

Let's see if we can sort out your issue!

I have just studied English for about 2 years . I've studied at home and have never had an English teacher or English courses. I just try very hard myself. my comprehension is pretty good and I think listening is the best way to learning English and other languages. I've try that and have been successful.I know I'm not very good yet but I know I can do that.

Hi there

By answer into your question Katarina by doing some  exercises again and again just to improve your memory and enhance some new words that you did not notice nor understand.  Furthermore adopt new words is very helpful hopefully will help you this my little advice. Thank you so much English team to provide this kind of exercises because I took the IELTS last Thursday and it was very easy for me to catch up all kinds of question on the question booklet in IELTS more power to all of you I hope I will pass my examination the results is on coming November 29.

I try to understand how is working this websites but I can't. I am new here ...can you help me someone?

Hello katerina111!

Well, you should see this website as a library – just borrow whatever interests you! A good place to start is our Elementary Podcasts. These are short radio shows about different topics. To help your listening, vocabulary and grammar, you can read the transcripts and do the exercises. You can talk to other learners in the comments, too. There is lots of other material in our Listen and Watch section as well. If you want to work on grammar, take a look at our grammar section.

Don't forget that we also have a search box. Put a topic you're interested in into the box – like 'meeting people' or 'the present simple' - and you'll get a list of pages about that topic.

We have a lot of different levels on the site, so don't worry if something is too hard – find something easier, and come back to it later. Just try to look at something every day!

Hope that helps,

Thanks a lot for your work.
It´s very useful for learning English and England culture.

Could you please explain the meaning of the sentence "there's a lot less traffic on the river". Here, less means little, doesn't it? tks a lot.

Hello smallduck183!

You're kind of right. But actually, in context, this is a comparison. Although he doesn't say it, what Stephen means is

There is a lot less traffic on the river than there is on the roads.

That is, there are fewer boats on the river than cars on the road.

Hope that helps!
