I'm not working in a creative industry. But I would like to, if I had chance. But I think I like things such as science, finance, or politics more. What is really interesting is if you can put these things all together, for example, a combination of arts and science. Because suddenly it feels more connected. A scientist's work can suddenly become more related to every body.

I agree with their comments. They are the people who are actually working in creative industries. What they said is what they experienced.

I like this activity 'cos it shows the different ways of expressing opinions on a topic. I get to know the ways, words, and expressions people use to introduce their opinion, to give examples, to state the reasons and results, and to support their arguments.

Hi. Thanks to BC for the useful website.
Recently, I work in a magazine as a graphic designer. So, I can say that I'm a creative worker in a creative industry. :)
There is one thing that I didn't agree with the man in the article. Its about the income that you'll get as a creative worker. He says, "you’re paid very little" (paragraph 18).
Based on my experience in my country, Its a good career with good income. Just keep improving your skills. Enjoy what you do, love your work. And stay creative, this is a must.
I also will recommend this job as a career.

I think, this Listening activity is good for us to learn and improve our english. So many new words in this article. I need google translate to help me.. Hahaha..

Hi Ade Damayanti,

It's nice to hear that you're enjoying the website, and that it's helping you to improve. Remember that you can use our Cambridge Dictionaries Online tool to look up words and phrases you don't understand. Just type the word into the search window and click 'Look it up!' to get definitions, explanations, grammar information, examples and more. You can even hear the word pronounced.

Best wishes,

Thank you about this article! I am planning to go to UK work in cinema industry, but i have problems with english skills and this is reason, why I am sitting in this website :) UK is so beautiful country to study and work. There are so much opportunities and challenges for all of us. Wish a good luck for everyone!

In terms of economic benefits from my point of view what was said is completely true, that there are many enthusiast seeking a lucrative career but only much less number of them will make it. I agree with that since here in Iran where entertaiment business by no means compares with that in the UK we are seeing it be a dream come true for few and a Russian roulette for many.

Hello!! Very nice and useful podcast!
But I suppose I've found a mistake in the support pack in Task 2 question 5. It seems that moving to Spain won't be the only and necesseary condition to make some film stuff, right?) "c" is much more attractive, isn't it?
Thank you!

Hello Anna,
I'm glad you like the podcast!  You are correct that 'moving to Spain won't be necessary'... and that is why it is the correct answer.  The question asks 'Which of these is NOT a future trend in the film industry?', and the answer is 'moving to Spain or Portugal' because that is not a future trend.
I hope that clarifies it for you.
Best wishes,

hello, I am a student and  I found this site last week and I' d really want to improve my English,it's impressive!!!!
if I had to chose a craft  I'd be completely interested in this kind of seems to me rather tiresome  and stressful than difficult, and I also know that the ones who really want to do that are the ones who want to work hours and hours with a bunch of people and the ones  who can face the  nervous crowd, and of course people with imagination and novel ideas and enough patience..this are the people of the present and they'll always exist,at least as long as  the audience want more films, innovative clothes, and publishing video or even special effects.

I do not no what i have to say ..!
every thing is valuable here ..!

I noticed there is some mistake into "transcript" when I was listening the audio file. Is it possible? It may be my bad listening. Anyway, "Creative Industries"is something very interesting. There is much new vocabulary.
