Why i can't watch the videos?

Hello Kamran,

I'd suggest you download and install the latest version of the Adobe Flash player on your device. That often solves this kind of problem. If you're still not able to see the video, please try a different browser or different device. If none of that works, please let us know what device, which version of which operating system and which browser you're using and we'll try to help you.

All the best,

Hi nguthach,

The videos on LearnEnglish are not available for download, for technical and legal reasons. You can, however, watch them as often as you wish online.

Best wishes,

Great way to learn English. Although I have done M.A English yet sometimes I get confused in speaking.

Hello everyone

why I can't see any of "how to" videos? anybody can help

Hello Ammar85,

I'd recommend that you download and install the latest version of the Adobe Flash Player. That normally solves problems with our videos. If not, however, please let us know.

Hi Ammar85,

We've found that users in some countries sometimes have trouble viewing our videos. There is one other option for the How to videos, and that is to download them from the iTunes store. Even though they are in the store, they are free. This link might work for you, but if not, just search for 'British Council How to' in iTunes, and you should find them there.

By the way, some of our pages with video, such as this one from Word on the Street, have a link called 'Can't see video? Click here!'. Sometimes this will work, so I'd recommend you also try that if you're looking for other videos in English.

I hope this helps you!

Best wishes,

sir i am new here. its an excellent site.

How to ask someone to repeat something

can i use this sentence " can you rephrase that "

and sir i have a confusion about the following sentence please correct that

which is right
1. i ate this food before
2. i had eaten this food
3. i were seen it before

sir i didn"t find the option in this site from where i can comment my problem explicitly

Hello sabbir-1431,

'Can you rephrase that?' means something a bit different: it asks for someone not only to repeat something, but to say it in a different way, which usually implies that you didn't understand more than you didn't hear.

As for your other question, 1 and 2 are correctly formed, but which one is correct depends on the context they are to be used in. 3 is not correctly formed.

Best wishes,
