helllo !! i have one big problem . i m married to man speaks just english .. and i found many dificult to comunicate with him ..many times i loose words and i can t about a lot things in life !! help me pliiiiz

really it is very big problem and you lose many things

Hello ikrame1987,

I wish I could help you more, but all I can suggest is patience and practice.  Perhaps one or two of our listening sections might be helpful for you.  For example, our soap opera Big City Small World deals with the relationships between people, how they communicate and so on, so that might be very useful for you to listen to.  Our series Word on the Street follows two people going about their everyday lives and dealing with various situations, so that may be helpful too.

I also suggest that you bear one other thing in mind too.  Communication is only partly about words, and gestures, expressions, body language and so on can say as much or more as any language.  Think about how you can use these to help you communicate and perhaps that will help too.

Best wishes and good luck!

kibdly please help and advice me

Hi Hameeda,

Have you seen our page in Research Reports in Writing for a Purpose? That has advice for reports in an academic (i.e. university) setting - is that the kind of report that you'd like to practise?

When working on your writing, it's generally a good idea to read lots of examples of the kind of writing that you want to do. Pay attention to the organisation and phrases used, and try to imitate them.

If you write on a computer, you can use a spell checker to help you with your spelling - just do an internet search for "free online spell checker" and you'll see plenty of options.

Good luck!

Best wishes,

but i dont know what is my problem ??

Hello Nasser,

It's hard to say for sure without knowing you, but you might simply need more practice speaking. Some people develop fluency quickly, and others slowly, but what is certain is that everyone can benefit from practice. It's also important to be patient with yourself and to not worry about grammatical accuracy all the time. This is not to say that you should completely ignore grammar, but when you're trying to become more fluent, it's best to focus on getting your message across, and less so on grammar.

You might also try learning chunks of language that you think would be useful in your speaking (e.g. "I'm sorry, I didn't catch that"). If you are mostly concerned with speaking in social situations, for example, then you could memorise some of the phrases from this and other How to videos. You could also study episodes from Big City Small World. It's important to practice saying these chunks of language to yourself so that your mouth gets used to pronouncing them and you become more comfortable saying them.

Finally, try to practice speaking daily, even if for only a short time. You could choose three or four phrases that you want to practice speaking each day, and then for the rest of the day, say them to yourself for a minute or two after every meal or drink that you have. Little by little, I think you'll see that you improve.

Please don't hesitate to write back if you have more questions, and please let us know how it goes!

Best wishes,

sir , can you suggest a way to speak English very well in front of other

I suggest you say slowly, not too slow and not too fast, speak louder. I used to get tense and and speak fast and quiet, it sounds like im rapping, and others don't get me, so i recommend you to speak slowly calmly and loudly , and always be confident
