Subject: Summer travel grant

Dear Sir/Madam,

I'm writing to express my interest in the summer travel grant that was advertised in this month's university magazine.

I am a second-year student and I am planning to study English in New York for three weeks in July. I would like to apply for the travel grant to help me with my expenses.

Could you please send me further details, including how to apply and when the application deadline is?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,

Merry

Tips

  1. If you don't know the person's name when writing a formal email, you can start it Dear Sir/Madam.
  2. Your email should have three short main paragraphs:
    1. What you are interested in
    2. Why you're interested
    3. Any questions you have.
  3. I look forward to hearing from you is a good way to close an email if you want a reply.
  4. Regards is a semi-formal, respectful way to end an email. It is common in professional emails too.

I would love to study English in the UK. I think interacting with a native speaker and daily conversations would help me a lot to be fluent in English. Dear Sir/Maam I'm writing to express my interest in this summer study travel grant that was advertised on your website. I'm third-year student of the Economy and I'm planning to study English in London for one or more months from Jul. The period of time depends on you, how many months you will see reasonable. I would like to apply for a travel grant, otherwise, I couldn’t cover travel expenses on my own. Could you please send me further information, including the process of application and eligibility criteria. I finished my second year of university on time, with a high GPA. I'm attaching two Letter recommendation from my teacher, who expressed their interest to help me. I'm looking forward to hear from you.

I would like to go to English speaking countries to study English. There may be US, UK, Australia, Canada, Singapore, or India. English in each different country is a bit different about grammar, accent, pronunciation, and vocabulary. I really like American English so I hope I will have a trip to the US to practice my English.

As an English language learner, I would like to go to the UK. Honestly, it's my dream. I've been to many countries in Europe, like Germany, Spain, Italy, Poland, Austria, Hungary or France (Paris is incredibly beautiful, by the way) already. But England is something special I think. And it's not only because of my target language, you know, but it's also history, culture, literature and even sports (I'm a huge Arsenal fan) that engage me. I hope one day I could visit this country (for a month minimum) and make my dream come true.

I would like to go to one of English speaking countries to practise my English. To be in contact with native speakers is the best way to improve speaking.

Actually, I’m doing English courses on my own by watching some websites (This one is among them), and I find that very useful, however, If I get an offer to go somewhere for practicing English, I’ll choose England as I like this country and I want to visit it, I also like to learn several other languages such Russian and Turkish and I hope one day I realize my dream!

I would like to go to study Korean in Korea. I have three reasons. First, I like K-POP music and Korean drama, so I want to understand Korean and I would like to go to see my favorite person in Korea such as go to music live or movie preview. Second, I want to work in Korea for future. I think Korean cosmetics and clothes are the best things in the world. I would like to learn something about that and I open my own brand. It is so big dream but I want to do. For that purpose, first, I have to get Korean language. Finally, I want a connection between Japan and Korea. Now, our relationship is getting worse, so I would like to do something a little to our relationship. If our relationship is getting better, I can work in Korea easily for future. Not just me, almost people who are Japanese and Korean will be easier to spend life. To sum up. I want to go to Korea to study Korean.
