Subject: Thank you!!

Hi Carolina,

I just wanted to write and say thank you for everything.

You and your family were amazing hosts. I had a great time at your house. Thank you for making me feel at home. I'm sure my English improved a lot because of all your help too! Also, thank you for all the wonderful cooking you did. Now I can tell everyone English food is not as bad as they say smiley.

If you ever come to Sri Lanka, I hope you will stay with me and I can show you my city too.

Keep in touch!

Pradeep

Tips

  1. Start with Hi if it is an informal email to someone you know.
  2. The email can have three main paragraphs:
    • the reason for writing (= to say thank you)
    • the main point (= more details or examples)
    • a wish or offer for the future.
  3. Use emojis (e.g. smiley) or emoticons (e.g. :) ) to show you’re joking.
  4. You can say See you soon / See you next year if you hope to meet again.
  5. Use a closing phrase like Keep in touch, Write soon, Speak soon or Take care.

Yes, I think I'd like to stay with a host family in a new country. I'm the kind of person full of curiosity, so I like to meet different people, learn different cultrues and customs and I like to make friends. I'll be excited when I feel something is challengable and I'm always want to know the answers as soon as possible, so it will be better that have someone near to ask.

Hi Kim,

I am sending this email to thank you about 2 weeks in your house.
I had a lot of happy memories spending with your family. I have to say that your pancake is the best I have ever eaten. And although 2 weeks run too fast, my English was improved a lot because of your family's help.
I hope that you'll come to Vietnam onday and stay with me. I'll introduce to you my hometown, our well-known street foods as well.
So keep in touch.
See you soon.

i'm not sure it would be comfortable to live with host family. moreover, they are aboard. and i'm a little worried to meeting strangers whose culture, habits and language are different from mine. unless if i have intention to adjust them :)

Sir,
Use emojis (e.g. smiley) or emoticons (e.g. :) ) to show you’re joking.

i put true for that but i got X for that why?

Hello Santhi J

Do you mean for the sixth sentence in Task 1? Please note that what it says and what you say are different. It is talking about a specific emoji: :(

All the best

It is a good opportunity to see and understand other cultures. So, I would definitely stay with them and I will do the same when any or all of them visit my country.

I would not like to stay with a host family in a new country, because I'm worried of meeting up with people with habits too much different from mine; this could make difficult the living together.

Yup i'd like it although it may causing me feel a littlr bit uncomfortable but i guess it will be great to i mean we can have a graet time togther + adding new friends to family
