Stephen and Ashlie visit the seaside town of Blackpool and have a go on some of the rides at the Pleasure Beach theme park.

Do the Preparation task first. Then watch the video. Next go to Task and do the activity. If you need help, you can read the Transcript at any time.

Hello sinakabiri,

Thank you for you nice words! I'm afraid I can't help you with that sentence, however. As it stands it is not grammatical and, without the context, I wouldn't like to guess what it means. Please remember that the language used in films is often ungrammatical and - also often - it does not really make complete sense. A lot of humour comes from nonsensical language, after all!

Best wishes,

Hello,
I have a problem, for the last weeks I can not see anymore the videos from Word on the Street. I can see the transcrispt, the tasks but where should be the video I can see only the rectangle which is black. Do you have the same problem or only me? Thank you

Hello olimpiagv,

I would suggest that you update your Flash player. To do this, search the internet for "update Flash player" and follow the instructions there.

After you do this, if you're still not able to see the video, please let us know. It would be very helpful if you could tell us what kind of device you're using, what operating system it uses, and what browser you're using.

Finally, until this problem is solved, you should be able to view some Word on the Street pages. For example, the most recent pages on Farming have a section called 'Can't see the video?' - if you click there, I think you should be able to view the video in that space. There are other Word on the Street pages, though not all, that have this same option.

Thanks for your collaboration.

Best wishes,
Kirk

Thank you very much Kirk, I've found out what is the problem, the browser. I've just opened with another browser and it is working. Many thanks again, Olimpia

I’ll wave to you when I go past -- what is it meaning in english? thank

Hello Elgun_V,

It means exactly what it says - there is no metaphorical or idiomatic meaning here: the person will wave (a kind of gesture to say hello or goodbye) as they go past (they may be driving or riding a bike, for example).

Best wishes,

Peter
