Hi everyone!!!
It´s my first time that I write in this kind of pages.
I like very much the video. I´m from Vitoria- Gasteiz (Spain) which is European green capital 2012- In new houses(some of them), we have solar pannels. I have to include that the hills around my town, there are wind farms too,

Wow it's so wonderful.
I wonder if people in my country have the same idea and point of view for using more renewable energy, leave behind the fossil fuel. Because i think, more we use fossil fuel, more we'll harm this planet.

Hi everyone ..
Thanks a lot about this programme , but i wanna ask how can I do the tasks above ? Cause when I click it , there is nothing appear. Ex: when I click at the task above only it appears ( select true, false, or not given based on the information in the video ) but doesn't appear any exercise .

Hi Halool,
I'm sorry to hear you're having problems with the exercise.  Could you answer a few questions that will help us to work out where the problem is?

  • Are exercises on other pages working for you?
  • What kind of device are you using (a computer, a phone, a tablet etc)?
  • What operating system are you using?

Once we have this information I hope we'll be able to find a solution for you.
Best wishes,

hello, I'm from Vietnam. I'm working for a company that maunfature wind turbine generator!

Hello .Excuse me could I ask you to explain for me some things that i can't understand?
what does this sentence mean ? (Big wind farms have managed to harness the power of the wind off-shore or on high ground where it’s windy) i Do search for the meaning but I don't understand the sentence.
Thanks in advance.Kind regards.

Hello littlemoon86,

I'm not sure which part of the sentence you are having problems with.  Perhaps it is the phrase 'harness the power of the wind', which means to catch and use the power of the wind - a harness is something you use, for example, to fasten a horse to a cart, so you can use the horse to pull it.  'Off-shore' means at sea rather than on land, and 'on high ground' means in the hills or mountains.

If you find phrases like this which you don't understand, try using the Cambridge Dictionaries Online window on the right.  For example, I typed 'harness' in, chose 'harness (verb)' and saw an example about wind and wave power!

I hope that explains it for you.  Please let us know if there was something else in the sentence that was confusing for you.

Best wishes,

Peter
