How many points can you get in three minutes? Longer words score more points!

Playing Rules

You are given a random assortment of 16 letters in a 4x4 grid and are set a time limit of 3 minutes. In that time you must spell as many words as possible. The words, of course must be real words, spelt correctly as checked against the word list of 52,000 words and must contain between 3 and 7 letters. A letter cannot be used twice in the same word.

When forming your word, you can select letters from any position as long as you follow the spelling order.

Points are awarded depending on the number of letters in the word (the "Qu" cube counts as two letters).

3 letters = 1 point 4 letters = 2 points 5 letters = 3 points
6 letters = 4 points 7 letters = 7 points

I like very much this game. But I cannot understand why doesn't it accept "sunshine".

Hello Musician

Sorry about that, it should! The game checks the words you enter against a list. I suspect that the list lacks the word 'sunshine', even though it is indeed a word. I'll make a note of this for the next time we're able to edit it. It will probably be some time before we do this, but for now please know that it should work there.

All the best

Hi, sometimes i play wordshake but i can't use keyboard, i have to use mouse to make a word. Can anybody help me to fix this?
Hi icy, I'm sorry to hear you're having some problems. It sounds like a local issue, however, related to the settings on your device rather than the game itself. Perhaps check what other applications you have open when playing, as perhaps one of them is interfering with the functioning of the keyboard. Peter The LearnEnglish Team
