My last holiday

My last holiday was a five-day trip to Prague in the Czech Republic. I know Prague well because I lived there when I was at university, more than ten years ago.

Instead of staying in a hotel, I stayed with one of my old friends. It was so much fun, and a little bit like my old life. I wanted to do all the same things I did in my university days, so I visited the university. It has changed a lot and looks more modern. I also went to the supermarket near my old house. I loved seeing all the different foods. I was really happy to find my favourite cheese and chocolate biscuits but they were a bit more expensive than I remember!

We did some touristy things too. We walked up beautiful Petrin Hill and around the castle. The views of the city are amazing up there. We walked across the historic Charles Bridge. My friend's flat is very near the TV Tower so we saw the famous baby statues climbing up it. Those things haven't changed, of course.

Tips

1. Try to make your writing interesting for the reader. To do this, you can make it personal with your own memories and experiences.

2. Use adjectives to add detail to your descriptions.

3. Write clear and simple sentences and organise your ideas in short paragraphs. Give each paragraph a different topic.

4. Use so, but, and, because and other linking words.

My last holiday was five-day trip the Baltic Sea in Poland. I stayed in private house where I rent a room. The weather was perfect all days, heat and sunny. I swam a lot and I walked along the beautiful beach, there were a lot of people. I loved seeing the Sea, the views are amazing. I also went to the restaurants but there were a bit more expensive. I loved this holiday and would recommend it to anyone.

My last holiday was a three-days trip to the north of Iran. Perhaps it is interesting in you if you know though my country is almost in the desert and low wet region, there is a very beautiful and green jungle between the north of Iran and the south of the Caspian Sea. Hi teacher, Is this sentence correct? " There is a very beautiful and green jungle between the north of Iran and the south of the Caspian Sea. "

Hello shahhoseini

Yes, that is grammatically correct and quite clear. It is fine as you have written it, but I would probably make a couple of small changes if I were writing this: 'There is a beautiful, green jungle in the north of Iran, just south of the Caspian Sea.'

All the best

i think that my best holidays were those that i did with my boyfriend..we visited lot of italian cities togheter..Rome, Naples, Caserta, l'Aquila, and others cities. Our last trip was in l'Aquila, a few days before Christmas. L'Aquila is the coldest italian city, we visited the historical centre city with the most famous l'Aquila fountain frozen..we visited also a monumental cathedral and i saw for my first time the snow. It was wonderful and i am always thankful to my boyfriend for give me the possibilities to see these wonderful italian cities.

Hello estiallina,

The titles of books, films and so on are capitalised, as are all proper nouns. The titles of articles, on the other hand, can be written in normal sentence case, particularly in less formal contexts and in online articles.

For example, both the Guardian and the Independent do not capitalise their article titles:

https://www.theguardian.com/news/series/the-long-read

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/long_reads

We are always happy to receive feedback and are happy to change in the light of our users' comments where we consider it appropriate. However, if you're giving feedback, it would be good to avoid sarcasm and a confrontational tone.

My last holiday was in Germany. I'm growed up there so it isn't quite a common tourist holiday for me. I went by car with my wife and our four kids. It was a really long drive (about 1300 kilometre) so we stayed in a hotel in the middle of the journey. When we arrived we had a really relaxed time with my wife's family. I t was a great holiday for us because we spend a lot of time with our old friends and our relatives but next time we'll travel by plane.
