Hi Sunny!

How are you?

We're finally coming to Singapore so I wanted to ask your advice on what we should do while we're there. What shouldn't we miss? We'll have our two kids aged 6 and 8 with us so ideally we want to do things we can enjoy as a family.

We've already got a hotel booked in Marina Bay and we arrive on 12 May for a week.

I hope you're around so we can meet up!

See you soon,

Janet

Hi Janet!

Lovely to hear from you and how exciting that you're coming!

You've picked a great area to stay in as it's right next to a must-see attraction, Gardens by the Bay. They light them up at night and the kids will love it. Another place to take the little ones is the zoo, and the Night Safari is really worth doing. The animals are much more active at night than during the day, so it's pretty special.

As for food, there's quite a variety here. I'd recommend trying laksa and kaya toast – they're both really typical Singaporean foods. You can also eat well and cheaply at street markets. You should definitely check them out.

Can't wait to see you all!

Sunny

Tips

  1. Start informal emails with Hi + name instead of Dear + name.
  2. An informal email can be like a conversation, so you can start with How are you?
  3. If you're replying, you can start with Lovely to hear from you.
  4. Use these phrases to make recommendations:
... is worth doing / seeing / going to.
    ... is a must-see (attraction).
    I'd recommend ...
    You can ...
    You should ...
  5. Say why you recommend those things.
  6. You can add something at the end using P.S.

If you are coming to Yangon, a city tour is a must as we were colonized by British so there are many histories and interesting things to see. And eat street foods around Mahabandula Park but don’t eat too much because it can be a little unclean. Shwedagon Pagoda is also another place that is worth going as it’s the most famous Pagoda in Myanmar. And I will recommend taking the train to cycle the city because the train is really old and will make you feel like you are time traveling back to 100 years.

Hi, Maria! How are you? I've heard from Koji that you are coming to Japan this September! Have you already decided where you go? I would recommend going to Kyoto, where there are a lot of Japanese traditional sightseeing spots, like old shrines, temples, and festivals. I can't wait for meeting you! Make sure you call me if you arrive in Japan! P.S. Let me know your flight details!

Well, I live in the capital of our country, so there are lots to see here. My city is more than 1500 years and it always was in the center of our community, the biggest and the richest city. The center of culture, education, and art. So, let's get started. First of all, I recommend visiting some ancient churches. Some of them were built about 1000 years ago. Then, you definitely have to see the main river of our country. It's wide and spectacular. Unfortunately, many of the old buildings, which were really beautiful, have been destroyed during the WW2. But there are still lots to see in the city center. And local food. It worth trying. May - is the best time to visit my city. It's warm (but not hot) and the streets are full of flowers.

Hi! So nice to hear from you. How are you? What a surprise that you're coming to Uruguay, I can't wait to see you! We should meet up in the independence square as soon as you arrive because it's near from the port. From there it's worth to visit the Solis theater and Salvo palace, in both places there are cheap guided visits. The rest of the days you should go to the beach, the water is warm and clean. I'd recommend you staying in Cabo Polonio, a place without electricity which it's in front of to the sea, perfect if you want to be in peace. As for food you have a plenty variety. You can eat in different restaurants or buy something to eat in the supermarkets. See you in a week! Bye!

If you come to Caracas, you should definitely visit Avila Mágica, it is the largest Cable Car in Venezuela. The main station is about 20 minutes by car from the city center. Just few minutes later you get into the cable car you will see how huge Caracas is, I prefer to do it during the sun set, it is a romantic and colorful show, but you can also do it when returning. Bring your jacket, you will feel the cold once you are in the top of the Avila Mountain. Once you´ve arrived you´ll see the coast side of Venezuela on the other side of the mountain. It´s kind of contrast, on one side the cold nice city, on the other, the hot summery beach!!

Hello my friend I hope you're doing well. If you live or stay in Caracas I'd definitely recommend you going to downtown Caracas. You should start in Bolivar's Square. It's a great place to getting fresh air. The children can play there and feed the squirrels and pigeons with corn. Cafe Artesano is another worth seeing as well. They offer a very good attention, good coffee and tasty desserts like 'golfeados'. 'La Casa Natal del LIbertador' is another must-see. It's the birthplace of our national hero Simón Bolívar. It's a great place to learn about the Venezuelan colonial life. In ther room you can see some famous paintings by Tito Salas like 'Delirio sobre el Chimborazo'. After that, if you want going for a drink you should go to 'Chocolates con Cariño'. There are a really friendly atmosphere. I will waiting you.

Hi Alex! Lovely hear from you!! Unfortunately we won't be in Caracas while you are here, because we have a family trip planned for the same date. However I'd like to recommend to many places which you can visit. Caracas is a city with a pleasant climate all year. You should go to the beach it is very close to the city. The Waraira Repano park is going to. You will love it, if you stay until night the view of the city is brilliant and romantic. If you have time other things that's worth doing is walking in the downtown. The house of the Libertador, the Plaza Bolívar and the Cathedral are must-see atrraction. I hope that with these tips you can get to know some typical places in my city. Enjoy you stay here. See you another time. Yola

Hi, bro! How are you? I have the place that I want you to visit. That is Ueno. Ueno is one of the places I like. This city is in Japan and it is also famous in Japan, so I hope you to visit here. Do you know Ame-yoko? There are a lot of stores. There are sold fishes, fruits, some foods, shoes, clothes, and so on. Anyway, you can see so many things. You will feel fun and freshness only to walk Ame-yoko. In fact, I have visited there many times because I like here but I’m always feeling freshness so I can say there is the place you are able to feel new if you visit several times. Therefore, here is worth visiting. I have one more thing. I’d also recommend you go to Shinobazu Pond. It has many attractive points. If it becomes spring, you can see cherry blossoms. What is more, if it becomes summer, you can see lotus flowers as far as the eye can see. This pond of lotus flowers is covered with them and it is dyed pink. I think this is thing that you cannot see too much. When I’m writing, I become also to want to go there. There is quite beautiful so you should go there. Can’t wait to see you all! Ayano P.S. Let me know your flight details!
