Great mains, pity about the chips

Came for lunch with my sister. We loved our Thai-style mains which were amazing with lots of flavour, very impressive for a vegetarian restaurant.

But the service was below average and the chips were too terrible to finish.

When we arrived at 1.40, we had to wait 20 minutes while they got our table ready. OK, so we didn't have a reservation, but the restaurant was only half full. There was no reason to make us wait at all.

We ordered the chips as a side dish and they looked delicious. But, when we tasted them, they were overcooked and swimming in oil so we left most of them. We expected a lot more for $10!

When the waiter asked if everything was ok, we said we really didn't like the chips and he said 'That's funny, I love them' and that was it. He didn't offer us anything else or take them off our bill. Also, when we didn't leave a tip, he looked annoyed.

I was really excited about visiting Vega, and the mains were just fantastic, but the rest of the experience was really disappointing.

Tips

  1. Use an informal or semi-formal style.
  2. In the title, give the main idea or opinion.
  3. Write about the important parts of the experience, not every detail.
  4. Organise your ideas into paragraphs.
  5. Write about the good and the bad.

I definitely had that sort of experience. And not once, unfortunately. I can't remember all of that stuff but the most awful meals I'm going to write about. The first one was in Crimea. Actually, can't tell in which place but whatever. I ordered lamb skewer and it was disgusted almost uneatable piece of lamb fat instead of meat. When I started to complain the waited said I can order another one, maybe it will be better and, of course, I have to pay for both. Another example was not exactly about the meal, but about the cheating. Our noisy company was in a good pub in the center. The food was tasty and the beer even better but, when the bill was brought, we, with surprise, found there what we didn't order. There were lots of snacks and tons of beers and .... spaghetti. Can you imagine that someone orders spaghetti at the beer party? I also not. So we demanded another bill without this extra and, of course, we've never been to that pub again.

Kyay Oh shop in Chinatown After passing matriculation exam, I went to Yangon with my father and uncle. One day, visiting around the city, my father buy and feed kyay-oh to me in chinatown. I haven't ate it before. I think it might be delicious for me without putting a kind of vegetable in it. I don't know the name of that vegetable. It looks like lettuce. I didn't like its smell. So I ate only pork in this soup. It was expensive compared with other myanmar foods. I had to come back from this shop with my stomach unfulfilled.

Since you guys post all about bad experiences. I will try to change the atmosphere a bit. This is my wonderful experience of eating. Right now, as recalling the fried rice I've eaten, my mouth couldn’t stop swallowing saliva. It was so damn delicious! The store was small, ordinary, and has nothing special at all. I went with my elder brother, he ordered ramen, and I’m not into liquid food so I ordered fried rice. Before the foods arrived, I was like “Meh, just eat to fill my belly anyway”. But the moment the food touched my tongue, my eyes were wide open. Damn! The hot food, the just enough salty, the tasty meat, the fresh-chopped vegetables, and the SPICY (I'm a spicy dude tho). I swear it is the most delicious fried rice I have ever eaten. It’s even better than my mother cooked. Since then, with him, we go to eat there regularly. We skipped cooking to go out to eat. And whenever we had to leave our city for weeks or months, our first and only choice was nothing but fried rice. We were addicted to that divine fried rice! The price couldn’t be any better. The only down thing was we had to wait about 20 mins to get our meal because they made it so carefully. Customers and the food delivery service were always in line. The store has been open for about a year. And when COVID pandemic struck, they had to close. And they never come back. I wish that I had the store owner's phone number, so I would be able to find them again. And that’s all. Thanks for reading guys!!

I don't really remember if I had a bad experience at restaurant, because every time I want to go to eat at restaurant, I always read the restaurant review online. Restaurant review is so helpful for the new customer and culinary hunter like me. I wrote plenty of the reviews too and most of them are good.

That is very sad. I also had a bad experience in a restaurant. I was very hungry and when i saw this restaurant, all the food looked tasty, but the meat was half raw. I have lost my appetite.

Chiplotte When I was leaving the university, my friends and I were walking down the street looking for something tasty to eat, and suddenly a place where they sold tacos came, we had to wait for about 20 minutes the place was small and there were too many people. When we were served the food smelled delicious and we didn't take long to try the tacos, we ate everything was delicious. After finishing, the waiter came up and asked how the food was and when we left we didn't leave a tip because we ran out of money. The waiter looked at us and seemed annoyed and we decided not to go back to that place.
