A design presentation

Listen to the presentation about a new product design to practise and improve your listening skills.

Do the preparation task first. Then listen to the audio and do the exercises.

Hi, everyone. Thanks for coming to this short presentation on our new product design. As you know, we've already redeveloped our 'Adventure' shampoo to make it more modern and appealing. And we've renamed it 'Adventure Tech'. Our market research established the target market as men in the 18–40 age range who like to be outdoors and also like technical gadgets, such as smartwatches, drones and things like that. We needed to create a bottle which appeals to that market.

So, today, I'm happy to unveil our new bottle design. As you can see, it's designed to look like a black metal drinking flask, with some digital features printed on it.

I'd like to talk you through the following three points: the key features, sizing and our timeline for production.

Firstly, you'll notice it has an ergonomic design. That means it fits smoothly into your hand and can be easily opened and squeezed using one hand. And, it looks like a flask you might use when hiking outdoors. The imitation digital displays are designed to remind the user of other tech devices they may have, such as a smartwatch or smart displays in their home.

I'd now like to tell you about the sizes. It comes in two sizes: the regular size and a small travel size. The travel size is the same type of design – a flask, also with imitation digital displays on the bottle. We were thinking of starting with one and following with the travel-size in a few months, but we've worked hard and both are ready now.

Finally, I'm going to talk to you about our timeline for production. You've probably heard that we're launching in two months. In preparation for that, we're starting the marketing campaign next month. You can see the complete overview of all phases in this Gantt chart.

In summary, the bottle's been designed for men who like adventure and technology, and it comes in two sizes. The marketing campaign is starting next month and we're launching the product in two months.

OK. So, any questions? Feel free to also email me for further information in case we run out of time.

I did it some years ago due to my study stuff at University in Germany. It was been an appealing presentation because of the group work. Every member of the group had worked on their separated part, and my bulk of the presentation was that I have to unveil the entire project. It was difficult to present to the audience because there were in the hall twenty-five person, I guessed. At the end was a discussion phase, and we got a wide range of questions by audiences, finally, we came up with our responses to inquires. When I remember this time, I feel that I would say life has been flying.

The last time I gave a presentation was about one year and a half, when I had to discuss about a study that I had to make in the context of a universitary course. It was about the legal arrangement of the confiscation how it is disciplined by the d.lgs. n. 231/2001. Fortunately, notwithstanding i had very few time to prepare it, it was a success.

Frequently in my work I do presentations about financial topics related to budgeting or new agreements according following the necessities of the organization. In this kind of events the most important is to have clear the topic, maybe to do a list of bullet points with the main things about presentation as it to be easy to understand for anyone who seeing the presentation, and finally open the discussion and if you want, giving to people a feedback.

My last presentation was exactly 24 hours ago, I had to talk about a literary work. It went quite well, and my teacher asked me to give presentation for the lesson next Friday. I hope it would be OK, so I can get good marks in Literature.

When was the last time you had to give a presentation? What was it about? How did it go? The last time that I had to give a presentation was 9 months ago, it was a research presentation about gastroesophageal reflux. I was very nervous because there were a lot experts about this topic, but I breathe deeply and then a few seconds I was really concentrated and I was speaking fluently. It was excellent.

I don't know much time to give presentation about some subjects but 2 years ago my teacher told me that I should've given a presentation about İndustry 4.0 so it was last time to give presentation about something.

Well, frankly speaking, I've never done any presentation in my life. It wasn't my function at work to create presentations. Nonetheless, I've done lots of analytics work with the company's database and made tons of reports about that. Almost every day I made a report (typically few) about particular performance indicators. I had to handle numerous inbox data, called our regional representatives to get the last information about roll-out progress, and present all this stuff in proper form. I don't tell you it's hard, well it's not that hard as a miner's job, but it demands scrupulosity and quickness and readiness to change the output due to the new information quickly. It was quite a responsible task and I like it in some way ... not always though because I often faced recklessness from my colleagues and it made my task much harder. If we, finally, put our main topic on the table - I mean "presentation" - I think I could do it right. I like good design and neat phrases so I could be the right fit for that.

The last time I gave a presentation was on July, in this year. I had to show to the Regional Manager the results achived during June. The presentation was quite long, but there were much information to present. I suppose it went well.
