Hi Sunny!

How are you?

We're finally coming to Singapore so I wanted to ask your advice on what we should do while we're there. What shouldn't we miss? We'll have our two kids aged 6 and 8 with us so ideally we want to do things we can enjoy as a family.

We've already got a hotel booked in Marina Bay and we arrive on 12 May for a week.

I hope you're around so we can meet up!

See you soon,

Janet

Hi Janet!

Lovely to hear from you and how exciting that you're coming!

You've picked a great area to stay in as it's right next to a must-see attraction, Gardens by the Bay. They light them up at night and the kids will love it. Another place to take the little ones is the zoo, and the Night Safari is really worth doing. The animals are much more active at night than during the day, so it's pretty special.

As for food, there's quite a variety here. I'd recommend trying laksa and kaya toast – they're both really typical Singaporean foods. You can also eat well and cheaply at street markets. You should definitely check them out.

Can't wait to see you all!

Sunny

P.S. My number here is +65 1234 1234.

Tips

  1. Start informal emails with Hi + name instead of Dear + name.
  2. An informal email can be like a conversation, so you can start with How are you?
  3. If you're replying, you can start with Lovely to hear from you.
  4. Use these phrases to make recommendations:
... is worth doing / seeing / going to.
    ... is a must-see (attraction).
    I'd recommend ...
    You can ...
    You should ...
  5. Say why you recommend those things.
  6. You can add something at the end using P.S.

I would recommend for tourists visiting Machu Picchu because it is one of the most interesting and revealing places in the word. For staying in I would recommend the Cusco hotel, which is really beautiful, because it is near to a must- see attraction, The Inca Castle. Another place to have a great time is the market of Cusco where you can find and see different types of handcrafts. As for food, there's quite variety here. I'd recommend trying "causa" and "tamales" they're both really typical Peruvian foods. You can also eat well and cheaply at the market of Cusco.

Hi Janet! I’m so excited to hear you coming to my hometown this summer. There are a lot of places and exciting activities your family can enjoy while staying here. First, you should definitely visit the Imperial City, it’s very very special because it used to be the King’s place. And since your family travels together, Back Ma National Park is another great place to escape from the heat. There are swimming holes, waterfalls, and cable ropes in the middle of the jungle. Your family will love it. As for food, there’s a lot! You can get some famous foods like Pho or Bun bo Hue, I bet you heard about them before but haven’t tried the original taste. After that, my sister and I will give you a “special local cuisine tour” to eat all the delicious food at local prices, you guys don’t want to miss it. Can't wait to see you all!

Here are some recommendations for anyone who wants to visit Sai Gon. You should book hotel in District 1. It is a great area to stay in as it's right next to many must-see attractions. Sai Gon Notre Dame Cathedral, Post Office, Musiums are all located in districst 1. You should definitely check them out. There is a street named Bui Vien. Local people call it Western street because lots of western tourist come there, drink beer, enjoy food, music and Sai Gon atmosphere at night. It will be a fun, interesting and unique experience. As for food, there's quite a variety here. I'd recommend trying Pho and Banh Mi, they are both really typical foods. You can also eat well and cheaply at Ben Thanh street markets. Welcome to Sai Gon after Covid.

Hello there! I live in Shymkent. It is north of the Kazakhstan. We have many sightseeing places around the city e.g. parks, zoo and buildings. Also I would recommend historical places like Mausoleum Of Yassawi, Aisha Bibi, Arystan Baba. Mausoleum Of Yassawi is included for a list of UNESCO. In the north of Kazakhstan weather and nature is wonderful. You can find some Mountain resorts and beaches there.
