A: OK. Are you a medical doctor? It must be helpful when you sell medical equipment.

B: Actually, no. My doctorate was in electronic engineering, but it's still helpful for me when I sell our equipment.

Hello. Could you please tell my what the grammar is used in this sentence "I'm very happy to be joining this team..". I want to ask about the "to be joining" part.Is it must be to be + Vpp/ ?.Thanks in advanced!

Hi amylee,

This is called a continuous infinitive. It's made of "to be" + an -ing verb form. The continuous infinitive presents the action (joining) as something ongoing and already in progress at the moment of speaking. For example, a person might say this on their first day at a new job, when they are in the middle of meeting people, getting familiar with the workplace, etc.

The simple infinitive can also be used ("I'm very happy to join this team") but this is not necessarily an "ongoing" action. For example, a person might say this now if they accept an offer to join the team, but they will only join the team several weeks later.

I hope that helps.
