Bob: No, Paul, I need the hammer. It's in the toolbox, on the left, under the scissors.
Paul: Sorry, Bob. Could you repeat that more slowly, please?
Bob: The hammer … in the toolbox … on the left … under the scissors.
Paul: On the left … under the scissors … Oh! Do you mean the hammer? Is this it?
Bob: Yes, that's right!
Paul: Ah! Why didn't you say so?
Bob: I did!

yes of course, actually I've found it more than helpful as it helps in avoid being bored while learning and also to look to some native guy while he is speaking by words you can say is one of the most helpful techniques for improving your ability to pronounce those words... Thanks a lot!
Of course, there are some phrases neccesaries to ask for repeating one again the same question. The adverb slowly is an important key
