If I assist to a conference, the most important things for me are that there were comfortable seats, good audio and a good view to the exponent's presentation. If the conference will be long, to get some refreshments is no bad.
I was wondering why "theater" should be categorized in "room types" instead of "facilities"?

It's a fair question - I think you could put it in either category. However, the context suggests 'room' as it is described as 'for 1000 people'.
