So cool to read about everyone's home tradition they miss the most! I'm from England but I've been living in the States for five years and the thing I miss the most is Bonfire Night on November 5th.
The best thing about Bonfire Night is the fireworks, oh, and the bonfires! … and the history behind it. Basically, Guy Fawkes and his friends tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament and kill King James I. They nearly did it too – they hired a room under the House of Parliament and filled it with explosives. But someone told the royal palace. The authorities found Guy Fawkes in the room guarding the explosives, and he was sentenced to torture and death.
So it's a tradition that celebrates the fact that the king survived. It also means people don't forget what happens if you plot against your country. There's a kind of poem about it that starts 'Remember, remember the fifth of November, gunpowder, treason and plot.' That's why we build a 'guy' – a life-size model of Guy Fawkes – and burn it on the bonfire. Pretty dark and horrible when you think about it!

It's about 6th October 1973, the day when all Egyptians felt proud and confident because of the greatest battle against Israel and the major victory it achieved. I like the São João (St. John) party in Brazil. It's very cool. A lot of traditional foods and music. It's one of the biggest parties in the country.
Hi, everyone. I'm Juan from Mexico. Last weekend we celebrated Day of the Dead. This is a tradition very important due we celebrate and remember all family, friends, and loved ones who dead. Many people visit us to see how we do it. We put an altar with pictures from all loved ones who are not now. Furthermore, we put all dishes that I liked them. We even put pictures about are pets.
If the narration of the bonfire is true, it was so horrible.

I'll tell you about a special tradition in Costa Rica. We celebrate the Battle of Santa Rosa in March. It is a celebration about an important moment in our history. It was a battle against another country because they wanted to get our lands. Costa Rica had not army, but people joined to fight against those who wanted to governate us. Our country won the battle and we don't have army nowadays.

Thadingyut is amazing tradition which is also know as Lightning Festival of Myanmar. Very crucial tradition for all Buddhism. Thadingyut festival is the celebration to welcome the Buddha’s descent from the heaven after he preached the Abhidhamma to his mother, Maya, who was reborn in the heaven.
