Hello everyone!
I can't understand exactly the meaning of "made up" when Harry says "I’m just glad you’ve made up with Bindyu"
Could anyone help me, please?
Thank in advance!

Hello RobinOP,

The meaning of 'make up' in this context is explained in this Cambridge Dictionary entry. I think that will clarify it for you, but if not, please let us know.

All the best,

Hello E team,

I can't understand why that sentence in task2 is right, which is "They went to a new art gallery, didn't they?". Why "did they" is not right here?

thanks for help.

Hello fangQ,

This is an example of a tag question. Usually, the tag question is the opposite to the verb form in the main clause: if the verb is negative, the tag question has an affirmative form; if the verb is affirmative, the tag question has a negative form. For example, we would say:

They went to a new art gallery, didn't they?

They didn't go to a new art gallery, did they?

You can read more on tag questions on this page.

Best wishes,

Peter

Thank you very much

Johnny: Who‟d have thought it?
Olivia: Not me, but there you go...

What does "there you go" mean?

Hello Xucon and flamboyant,

It's great that you want to practise speaking together, but please be sure to read our House Rules, which limit the kind of information that you can share here. You might want to check out our Facebook page, too, or even see if there's a conversation class at a British Council Teaching Centre in Vietnam.

Best regards,

Hello every body
I would like to thank you, dear all in the Learn English Team for this good materials and series for learning English. I've got a question about this episode, when Carlos answers this Johnny question: 'what was Sarah doing?' why he uses present tense: "Sarah introduces me, and then he says...", while he is talking about past?
