Hi puffineguin,

I'm afraid that our videos, including their audio tracks, are not available for download due to them being under copyright. The Elementary Podcasts and Big City Small World, as well as many articles in the Magazine, do have downloadable audio.

good day.

this is the first time I’m texting to you, how can I know that the synonym I’m using is the suitable one?

Hello Salim1,

I'm not sure that I understand your question.  Are you asking in general or are you asking about one of the exercises on this page?

Best wishes,

I came here for my bad experience in LA where I did a drive through at Carl Jr for a burger, the waitress have a strong south american accent. So i keep on missing, is there any other way to ask someone to repeat?

Hi kevin2367,

"Can you please repeat that?", "I'm sorry, I didn't understand you" or "Come again?" (this last one is rather informal) are other ways to ask for someone to repeat something. Better luck next time!

helllo !! i have one big problem . i m married to man speaks just english .. and i found many dificult to comunicate with him ..many times i loose words and i can t about a lot things in life !! help me pliiiiz

hi
really it is very big problem and you lose many things

Hello ikrame1987,

I wish I could help you more, but all I can suggest is patience and practice.  Perhaps one or two of our listening sections might be helpful for you.  For example, our soap opera Big City Small World deals with the relationships between people, how they communicate and so on, so that might be very useful for you to listen to.  Our series Word on the Street follows two people going about their everyday lives and dealing with various situations, so that may be helpful too.

I also suggest that you bear one other thing in mind too.  Communication is only partly about words, and gestures, expressions, body language and so on can say as much or more as any language.  Think about how you can use these to help you communicate and perhaps that will help too.

Best wishes and good luck!

Hello every one..

kibdly please help and advice me

Hi Hameeda,

Have you seen our page in Research Reports in Writing for a Purpose? That has advice for reports in an academic (i.e. university) setting - is that the kind of report that you'd like to practise?

When working on your writing, it's generally a good idea to read lots of examples of the kind of writing that you want to do. Pay attention to the organisation and phrases used, and try to imitate them.

If you write on a computer, you can use a spell checker to help you with your spelling - just do an internet search for "free online spell checker" and you'll see plenty of options.

Good luck!
